Eumar recently attended the Cruise Ship Interiors Expo Europe in Barcelona, an event which is seen as the leading trade fair of the marine interiors industry.

The show is a fantastic opportunity for interior designers, architects, outfitters, shipyards and interior suppliers to meet with Europe’s ocean, river and expedition cruise line market working on major refurbishment and newbuild projects.

This was the first time this event was held in Europe, following the huge success of the North American version which took place in Miami, USA, in June 2019. As featuring 160 exhibitors, 10 conference sessions and being attended by representatives of 47 cruise lines, the event is an unrivalled networking opportunity for the industry.

a new focus on sustainability

A key focus was on presenting design solutions to optimize the restrictions of space presented by the refurbishment existing vessels or the creation of new ones.

There was also special conference program presented, with world-renowned speakers and sessions lead by some of the biggest names in the business.

Some of the most interesting topics included sustainable cruise interiors, innovative materials, streamlining the refit process, and the future global outlook.

Another trend that appeared over the two days was a shift towards sustainability and a greener approach by the industry. Key challenges identified by industry leaders are how to minimize waste during the manufacture of boats and how to ensure that components used have the longest possible lifespan.

Eumar slotted into this trend perfectly, as our unique production techniques and timeless design approach already focus on creating long-lasting, durable bathroom designs that remove the need for frequent refurbishment or updating.

the Cruise Ship Interiors Expo Europe was a smashing success.

The event itself was fabulous and attended by loads of great people. Our booth attracted a great number of interested visitors and we believe this was a superb opportunity to showcase what it is that makes Eumar so unique.

Words cannot describe how pleased we are by the outcome. It was a privilege to participate in the show alongside so many other high-level exhibitors and leaders in the marine industry.
